ABOUT

I was born and raised in Devils Lake, ND, and have lived most of my life on the Spirit Lake Reservation, where I serve as the Fine Arts Instructor at Cankdeska Cikana Community College.

As an artist, much of my work centers on spirituality, whether through myth, fairy tales or literature. It always returns to the theme of finding balance in a fractured world. There is a strong spiritual aspect to my art, and through it, I hope to communicate the intangible forces present in our everyday lives. By blending elements of cultural beliefs from the ancient times to the present, I explore how these narratives are portrayed through myth and folk lore, both historically and in today's fantasy art.
My artistic goal is to take stories from across various cultures and illustrate the answers they give for life's most significant questions. All of these universal themes contain fragments of truth that enable me as an artist to build mosaics that communicate the truth through my work for our contemporary world.
